Well hell . . .

So not a week after posting that I think I may stop flying pretty all of the time, where did I find myself on Friday? Yeah, browsing through a sale at DSW Shoe Warehouse and buying two pairs of $80 heels on sale for $15 each.

That was the good news.

The bad news? I also bought two size 14 dresses at Goodwill and they were too freaking small! In a year or so, I've gone from a size 12 to the point where a size 14 is too small. That SUCKS!

  1. ahhh stress and less time on the run flying from one city to another has changed that dress size. you can blame it on the bad economy. LOL
actualy those dresses were probably just mismarked like so many of the clothing manufactures do these days to just to get us to buy on impulse. LOL

just remember when you break a cookie in half all the calories leak out and that chocolate will substitute for all those darker color veggies that are supposed to be so good for us. LOL yea right LOL

See just another reason to keep flying pretty which will have the added health benefit of helping to burn all those calories while running from one place to another. LOL

  2. Every time you try to get our, the shoes pull you back in

  3. Kim,
You know better than that! Dress sizes run all over the place. You just picked up a couple that were running small. Depending upon the brand, I can run from 8 to 16 without loosing or gaining a pound!
    Hang in there.

  4. Kim -

As Fats Waller used to say:

    "One never knows, do one?"

  5. Natural seasonal variation? or time to start watching those naughty little calories?

  6. No one said it was easy being what we are. It is just that it is often more difficult to be that which we are not.
Enjoy the shoes and go with the flow.

  7. Like you I am sure that many of us have attempted to walk away only to be slowly "dragged" back by some huge unforeseen force ("Beam me up Scotty?). anyhow hope that you, and also we, get to enjoy more of your blog and we do get to see those new shoes in action along with the new replacement dresses!
Have a fantastic trip to where ever your company sends you and keep "Flying Pretty"!! You encourage the rest of us to do the same.

  8. Retail therapy will usually brighten the day! Kim, I hope you will keep on "flying pretty" and writing about it. Please don't stop.... You're very attractive, and your blogs are a big inspiration for all of us who are still "learning."

As for the size 14 which didn't fit, they could indeed be incorrectly marked. But it could also be that some previous woman liked the dress, even though it was too big. So she bought it, and altered it to fit. I've had that experience, finding several dresses and skirts attractive, even though they're a too-big size "before". Then my seamstress works on them, and they become a smaller size, but the markings haven't changed. When you pay $2.50 for something, a few dollars in alterations don't matter. The skirt or dress is still a bargain.

However, if I ever purge, or otherwise dispose of them, you can be sure some woman shoppers at the Goodwill are going to have the same "sizing" thoughts you are!!!!

  9. Hi Kim, I have always been a big fan of your blogs since I started reading them a little over a year ago. They always seem different each time you write about a trip.

I had my hair done and also a makeover last week and ventured to a local Mall that is not too busy anymore(not many open stores) and walked thru in my black heels and new animal print dress. It felt good to get out and this was during the day. It reminded me of how you used to dress and go out in public while you were on your trips. It felt good to just get out and spread the wings and fly a little. I think you inspire a lot of girls to step out and just do it.

I miss your Blog so please don't stop telling us about your travelling adventures even if you think they are the same thing over and over.
